Wineclub Taupo was formed in 1977 to bring together like minded people who enjoy learning about wine. The club usually meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month although this can vary to fit in with visiting Winemakers. Our meetings normally feature a winery and a winemaker we also have an extensive cellar which is used on special cellar nights and sometimes to compare cellared wines with current release wines from visiting winemakers. Our feature function each year is a mid-winter luncheon featuring well known Winemakers, our guests have included Peter Robertson, Kate Radburn, Alwyn Corbin, Denis Irwin, James Milton, John Forrest, Michael Brackovitch, Anthony Ivicivich, this year we enjoyed an excellent presentation from Dr Neil McCullum consultant Winemaker to Te Awa and Dry River Neil also founded Dry River.
