Welcome to the Gisborne Wine and Food Society web page.
At our meetings we try to have a wide variety of good wines and good foods to match. All our meetings have a theme, and we are almost exclusively self - catering. We often have a guest wine and/ or food presenter to share their skills, knowledge and products.
We meet on different nights of the week, so check your calendar carefully if you intend to visit us while in Gisborne.

Local Restaurant Suggestions
For visitors to our region, we have a wide range of restaurants, fine dining as well as various ethnic venues, including Thai, Chinese, Indian and Italian. We especially recommend the following restaurants:
Marina Restaurant: Fine dining, superb service good wine list and a menu with a European slant.
Soho: Food is fantastic, staff are wonderful, good wines. Ignore the surroundings.
USSCO: (in the old Union Steam Ship Company Building, hence the name) Good food and a good wine list.
Try The Wharf Bar for fine dining and a view of the harbour as you enjoy your meal.
The Works has been newly renovated and is another great eatery as well. Open 7 days a week.
Colosseum Restaurant is a venue worth visiting, ten minutes out of town on the main road heading south, just before the Waipaoa River bridge.
Fettucine Brothers in Peel Street is the destination for pasta lovers, value for money assured.
